Sasil is Rory and Flora's eldest daughter. Her name Sasil originates from the Mayan word Zazil-Ha which means "Clearwater" she is the executive secretary for ZMMM. She oversees all administrative duties & responsibilites, and handles all ministry-related affairs both stateside and in Mexico. Sasil was born in Cleburne, TX, but was raised & homeschooled on the mission field since she was 10 years old in Mexico. She and her brother Michael are both bilingual speakers. Sasil attended and graduated from Christ for the Nations Institute (Dallas, TX) with a degree in Practical Theology and also has a bachelor's degree from Ecclesia College (Springdale, AR) in Christian Leadership with a minor in Children's Ministry and TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate as an added endoresment. She also holds a Master's degree from Regent Univeristy (Virginia Beach, VA) in Adult Education specializing in TESOL (Teaching English Speakers of Other Languages). Sasil is expecting her first child, a girl, in Nov 2024. She hopes to someday pursue her Phd.
Even though she longer lives in the Zona Maya anymore she does visit from time to time. When she is not working on ZMMM duties she works full-time as a Stay-at-home- mom. She previously worked as a Librarian/ Media Specialist for an independent school district. Sasil hobbies included gaming, writing, journaling, and collecting Star Wars memorabilia. She is a big advocate for supporting your local bookstore, public library, and literacy. Her Aunt Jean Johnson is the author of the Children book series called "Rynnie Roo Adventures" Jean Johnson has a book called "Rynnie Roo goes to the Yucatan Jungle" which was nominated for an award, which you can find/purchase on Amazon.
She currently resides with her husband Caleb, and their pomchi dog Maya in TX.
